Contract Librarian in Os, Norway


We are seeking a qualified and experienced Contract Librarian to join our team in Os, Norway. As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for managing and organizing library resources, helping patrons find and use library materials, and providing information literacy instruction. This position is for a contract period of 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain library collections, including cataloging, labeling, and shelving materials
- Assist patrons with finding and borrowing materials
- Provide reference and research assistance to patrons
- Plan and conduct information literacy instruction sessions for library users
- Develop and implement programs and events to promote library resources and increase patron engagement
- Monitor library budget and make recommendations for collection development
- Collaborate with other librarians to assess user needs and improve services
- Stay up-to-date on developments in the field of librarianship through professional development opportunities

Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Library Science or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working as a librarian in a public or academic library setting
- Knowledge of current trends and technologies in libraries
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups of people
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Fluency in English (knowledge of Norwegian is a plus)
- Must have a biometric passport for international travel

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1300 per month.
