Part-Time Executive Chef at Braga, Portugal


We are seeking an experienced and passionate Executive Chef to join our team on a part-time basis at our restaurant in Braga, Portugal. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen, including menu creation, food preparation, and kitchen staff management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop creative and innovative menus that reflect the local cuisine of Braga while also meeting the dietary requirements and preferences of our customers
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling shifts, providing feedback and coaching, and ensuring a positive work environment
- Monitor food inventory levels and place orders as needed to maintain adequate supply levels while minimizing waste
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth operations during service hours

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Extensive knowledge of local Portuguese cuisine as well as international culinary trends
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and coach kitchen staff
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with both front-of-house staff and management team
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend shifts

Preferred Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent training from a reputable institution
- Previous experience working in fine dining restaurants or Michelin-starred establishments
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Portuguese is highly desirable

Salary:
This is a part-time position with a salary of 1600$ per month.
