Contract Librarian in Kolding, Denmark
A leading library in Kolding, Denmark is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Contract Librarian to join our team. As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for providing high-quality library services to our community, including cataloging, circulation, reference services and collection development.
Responsibilities:
- Perform cataloging and classification of library materials according to established standards
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of library materials using the integrated library system
- Assist patrons with reference and research inquiries
- Provide assistance with circulation services, including checking out items and processing returns
- Collaborate with other librarians to develop and maintain the library's collection
- Plan and implement engaging events and programs for the community
- Keep up-to-date with developments in the field of librarianship
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting
- Strong knowledge of cataloging standards (MARC21), integrated library systems (ILS) and reference resources
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in Library Science or related field
- Experience working in an academic or public library setting
- Familiarity with current trends in digital libraries

This is a contract position with a salary of $1000 per month. Accommodation will also be provided. Visa sponsorship may be available for non-Danish nationals. This role is suitable for students looking for part-time work.
