Plastering and Finishing Technician



The Plastering and Finishing Technician is responsible for applying plaster, stucco, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings. They will also be responsible for repairing and smoothing out surfaces, as well as ensuring a smooth and even finish. This role requires attention to detail, physical strength, and precision.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and smoothing out imperfections
- Measure and cut materials to fit specific areas
- Mix plaster or stucco ingredients according to specified formulas
- Apply layers of plaster or stucco using trowels, brushes, or spray guns
- Smooth out surfaces using hand or power tools
- Create decorative textures or patterns in the finish
- Repair cracks or holes in existing finishes
- Ensure proper drying time between layers for a durable finish
- Clean tools and work area after each shift

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Plasterer or similar role
- Knowledge of different types of plaster and finishes
- Ability to read blueprints and follow specifications
- Physical stamina to work on feet for long periods of time and lift heavy materials
- Attention to detail for precise finishing work
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Preferred Requirements:

- Experience with traditional African plastering techniques
- Familiarity with eco-friendly building materials
- Previous experience working with adobe construction
