Foundry Technician


We are in need of a skilled Foundry Technician to join our team in Nakuru, Kenya. As a Foundry Technician, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining foundry equipment and tools to produce high-quality metal castings. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and strong technical skills.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain foundry equipment such as furnaces, ladles, and molds
- Monitor melting process and adjust temperatures as needed
- Prepare molds by following blueprints or instructions from engineers
- Pour molten metal into molds and remove castings after they have cooled
- Inspect finished castings for defects and make necessary repairs
- Keep records of production processes and report any issues to supervisors
- Clean and maintain work area, tools, and equipment

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in foundry operations is preferred
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in a foundry setting
- Strong understanding of metal properties, melting points, and casting techniques
- Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions accurately
- Physical stamina to handle heavy objects and work in hot environments for extended periods of time
