Information Technology Manager vacancy in Svalbard Norway

IT Manager

As the IT Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our company's information technology infrastructure in Svalbard. This includes implementing and maintaining secure networks, managing hardware and software systems, and ensuring the effective use of technology to support business operations. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing IT policies, procedures, and strategies to improve efficiency and productivity. The ideal candidate will have experience in IT management, strong technical skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse team. This is a contract position with a salary of $1500 per month.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of our company's information technology infrastructure in Svalbard
- Implement and maintain secure networks, hardware, and software systems
- Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and strategies
- Manage a team of IT professionals to ensure efficient operations
- Troubleshoot technical issues and provide timely solutions
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and make recommendations for implementation
- Work with other departments to identify areas for improvement in technology use

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
- Proven experience in IT management or similar role
- Strong technical knowledge of network security, hardware, software systems, etc.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience working with diverse teams

Preferred:
- Experience working with contract jobs
- Knowledge of the student population in Svalbard
