Junior Typesetter

As a Junior Typesetter, you will be responsible for typesetting various documents and materials for our publishing company in Alta. You will work closely with our experienced typesetters and editors to ensure the accuracy and quality of our publications. This is an entry-level position, perfect for those looking to start their career in typesetting.

Responsibilities:
- Use desktop publishing software to format and layout text, images, and graphics in accordance with project specifications
- Proofread and make necessary corrections to ensure accuracy and consistency of content
- Collaborate with editors, designers, and other team members to meet project deadlines
- Maintain consistency in design elements across various publications
- Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and make necessary adjustments to the layout
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technology advancements in typesetting

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Publishing, or a related field
- Proficient in desktop publishing software such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress
- Strong attention to detail and excellent proofreading skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members
- Basic understanding of typography, layout, and design principles

Preferred:
- Prior experience in typesetting or graphic design
- Knowledge of foreign languages for typesetting multilingual publications

Salary: $1600 per month (negotiable based on experience)

Location: Alta, Norway (visa sponsorship available)
