Interpreter for International Organizations

As an interpreter for international organizations, your primary responsibility will be to facilitate communication between individuals or groups who speak different languages. This role is crucial in promoting understanding and cooperation between nations and cultures in a globalized world.

Your main duties will include interpreting spoken language in real-time during meetings, conferences, and other official events. You must have excellent listening and speaking skills, as well as a strong command of at least two languages, including English. You will also be responsible for translating written documents and ensuring accuracy and cultural sensitivity.

This position requires a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and adaptability. You must be able to remain calm under pressure, think quickly on your feet, and maintain strict impartiality while interpreting sensitive or controversial discussions. As such, previous experience working as an interpreter in international settings is preferred.

In addition to language proficiency, you must have excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. You should also possess strong research skills to stay updated on current events and terminology related to the organizations you work with.

This is a full-time position based in Faroe-Islands with occasional travel required for assignments at various locations around the world. The salary for this role is 1700$ per month.
