Head Chef at Elegant Restaurant in Oslo, Norway



We are searching for a skilled and creative Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at an elegant restaurant located in the beautiful city of Oslo, Norway. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the kitchen, from menu planning and food preparation to staff training and budget management.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop seasonal menus that showcase local and international ingredients while meeting customer preferences and dietary restrictions
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring high-quality standards and consistency in taste and presentation
- Train and manage kitchen staff, including organizing work schedules and monitoring performance
- Maintain inventory levels of food supplies and equipment, ordering as needed to ensure a well-stocked kitchen
- Control food costs by closely monitoring portion sizes, waste management, and inventory levels
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with restaurant management to create new dishes or make changes to existing ones based on customer feedback

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-end restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent training from a reputable institution
- Extensive knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and cuisines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team towards excellence
- Excellent time-management and organizational abilities to handle multiple tasks while meeting strict deadlines
- Good understanding of food cost control methods
and experience managing budgets
- Ability to remain calm under pressure while maintaining quality standards
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment
- Fluent in English (Norwegian language skills preferred but not required)
