Typesetting Specialist

As a Typesetting Specialist, you will be responsible for formatting and arranging text, images, and graphics into attractive and readable designs. This role requires strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines. You will collaborate with editors, designers, and other team members to ensure that all content is accurately typeset and ready for publication. Experience with various typesetting software and a strong understanding of design principles are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
- Format and arrange text, images, and graphics using typesetting software
- Ensure all content is accurate, consistent, and aligned with design standards
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines
- Communicate effectively with editors, designers, and other team members to clarify any issues or concerns
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to typesetting software
- Maintain organized files of all typeset materials for easy access
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in typesetting technology

Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Typesetter or similar role
- Proficient in typesetting software such as Adobe InDesign or QuarkXPress
- Strong understanding of design principles (e.g. typography, color theory)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with team members
- Familiarity with biometric passport requirements preferred (training can be provided)
- Fluency in English (additional language skills such as Urdu or Nepali are a plus)
- Ability to work part-time hours if desired
