Librarian


The role of a librarian is to manage, organize, and maintain library resources and services. A librarian is responsible for cataloging books and other materials, assisting patrons with research and reference inquiries, and developing and implementing library programs and activities. The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong passion for literature, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Catalog books and other materials using appropriate classification systems
- Assist patrons with research and reference inquiries
- Develop and implement library programs and activities
- Maintain library collections by ordering new materials as needed
- Create displays to promote new materials or events
- Ensure the library is clean, organized, and welcoming for patrons
- Train new staff members on library procedures
- Stay up-to-date with current trends in literature to make recommendations to patrons
- Collaborate with teachers to develop lesson plans that incorporate library resources

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Previous experience working in a library setting preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English (additional language proficiency is a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
- Familiarity with online databases and research tools

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1800$ per month.

Location:
The job is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This position is open to all nationalities, but preference will be given to Malayalees.
