Preservation Architect
Our architectural firm in Lisbon is seeking a highly skilled Preservation Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in historic preservation, with a focus on architectural conservation and restoration. As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for conducting surveys and assessments of historic buildings, developing preservation plans, and overseeing the implementation of restoration projects.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct surveys and assessments of historic buildings to identify potential preservation needs
- Develop preservation plans that prioritize the conservation of original materials and design
- Collaborate with clients, contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure the successful implementation of preservation projects
- Oversee the restoration process, including managing budgets and timelines
- Research and recommend appropriate conservation techniques and materials for each project
- Stay updated on industry developments and best practices in historic preservation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in historic preservation, with a focus on architectural conservation and restoration
- Extensive knowledge of historical architecture styles, materials, and construction techniques
- Familiarity with local building codes and regulations related to historic preservation
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, or other relevant software
