Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for preserving and restoring historical buildings and structures. You will work with a team of architects, engineers, and preservation specialists to develop plans and strategies for the conservation of these valuable assets. Your role will involve conducting site surveys, assessing the condition of historical structures, developing preservation plans, overseeing restoration projects, and ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site surveys and assessments of historical structures
- Develop preservation plans in accordance with historical guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and preservation specialists on restoration projects
- Coordinate with contractors and oversee restoration process to ensure quality workmanship
- Monitor project budgets and timelines to ensure projects are completed on schedule
- Conduct research on materials and techniques used in historical construction to inform preservation strategies
- Keep up-to-date with industry developments in the field of historic preservation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field
- Minimum of 5 years experience in historic preservation or architectural conservation
- Thorough understanding of historic building materials, construction methods, and preservation techniques
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of local building codes and regulations related to historic structures
Salary: $1700/month (negotiable depending on experience)
