We are a growing company in Almada, Portugal seeking a skilled and qualified Database Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and managing our company's databases, ensuring their security, integrity, and performance.

As a Database Administrator, you will work closely with our IT team to design and implement database solutions that meet the needs of our organization. You will also be responsible for troubleshooting any database issues and ensuring that backups are regularly performed.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of database management systems and SQL. You should also possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain database software
- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot any issues that arise
- Ensure the security of the databases by implementing access controls and regularly backing up data
- Collaborate with IT team to design and implement new databases or improve existing ones
- Develop procedures for data backup, recovery, and migration
- Optimize database performance by identifying inefficiencies and making necessary adjustments
- Train employees on proper use of databases and troubleshoot any user issues
- Maintain documentation related to databases including security protocols, backup procedures, etc.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred
- Proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of database management systems (MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server)
- Experience in SQL programming
- Ability to troubleshoot database issues
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a team
- Good communication skills
