Executive Chef



We are hiring an experienced Executive Chef to join our team in Nairobi, Kenya. As the head of our kitchen, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and presentation. Your primary goal will be to ensure that our customers receive high-quality meals that meet their expectations.

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement menus that are creative, innovative and appropriate for our target market
- Oversee all kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, plating and presentation
- Train and manage kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and service
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Create and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure quality ingredients at competitive prices
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth flow of service
- Manage budget and control costs while maintaining high quality standards
- Stay updated on industry trends and introduce new techniques or ingredients to enhance menu offerings

Requirements:

- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant or hotel environment
- Culinary degree from an accredited institution is preferred
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- In-depth knowledge of culinary techniques, menu development, ingredient sourcing, budgeting and cost control measures
- Familiarity with health regulations and food safety practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure
- Creative problem-solving skills and ability to think outside the box

Salary: 1500$ per month

This is a full-time position without accommodation provided. Visa sponsorship may be available for qualified candidates.
