Library Assistant

The library assistant will be responsible for assisting the librarian in maintaining the library's collection and providing support to library patrons. This position is ideal for Indian nationals who are seeking employment in Khasab, Oman and have a passion for books and knowledge.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with cataloging new books and materials using the library's system.
- Help to maintain the organization and cleanliness of the library.
- Provide excellent customer service to patrons by answering questions, helping with research, and recommending books.
- Check in and out materials for patrons using the library's circulation system.
- Assist with collection development by making recommendations for new materials or removing outdated items.
- Conduct regular inventory checks to ensure accuracy of collection records.
- Shelve returned materials in their proper locations.
- Assist with planning and implementing library programs and events.
- Maintain statistics on library usage for reporting purposes.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working in a library setting is a plus.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new software quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of English is preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Salary:
The salary for this position is 1000$ per month.
