Entry-Level Librarian in Nizwa, Oman


We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Librarian to join our team in Nizwa, Oman. As a Librarian, you will be responsible for organizing and maintaining our collection of books, journals, and other materials. You will also assist patrons with research inquiries and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain the library's collection of materials
- Catalogue new items and update existing records
- Assist patrons with finding materials and research inquiries
- Answer reference questions and provide information on library resources
- Plan and implement library programs and events
- Create displays to promote new materials or themes
- Maintain the library's social media presence
- Monitor the condition of materials and make recommendations for replacements or repairs
- Train new users on how to use library resources effectively

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (or currently pursuing)
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus)
- Passion for books, reading, and learning
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Proficiency in using technology such as databases, internet search engines, and social media platforms

Salary:
We offer a starting salary of $1800 per month.

Location:
This position is located in Nizwa, a vibrant city known for its rich cultural heritage and beautiful landscapes. It is an ideal location for those who enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, and exploring historic sites.

Working Hours:
As a full-time job, you will work 40 hours per week from Sunday to Thursday. Occasional weekend work may be required for special events or projects.

Experience:
