Head Librarian


As the Head Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the library and information services in our Nizwa location. This position requires strong leadership abilities, as well as excellent organizational and research skills. You will oversee a team of librarians and library assistants, ensuring that they provide exceptional service to our patrons. Your role will also involve promoting the library's resources and services to increase usage and engage the community.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the library, including budgeting, purchasing materials, and maintaining facilities
- Train and supervise a team of librarians and library assistants
- Develop policies and procedures to ensure efficient functioning of the library
- Curate collections, both physical and digital, to meet the needs of our diverse patron base
- Stay updated on emerging trends in librarianship and implement new technologies or services accordingly
- Plan and coordinate events and programs to promote the library's resources and services
- Collaborate with other organizations or institutions to expand access to information for our community

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role in a library setting
- Strong knowledge of cataloging systems, reference tools, and electronic resources
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to lead a team effectively with strong interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage budgets, analyze data, and make informed decisions
- Passion for promoting literacy, learning, and community engagement through libraries

Salary: $1200 per month (negotiable based on experience)
