Executive Chef - African Cuisine


We are seeking an experienced and innovative Executive Chef who specializes in African cuisine to join our team in Mombasa. As the Executive Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations and ensuring the highest quality of food is served to our guests.

Responsibilities:
- Develop creative and authentic African-inspired menus that showcase local ingredients and flavors
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the kitchen including food preparation, inventory, budgeting, and staffing
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food quality and presentation
- Create and maintain relationships with local suppliers to ensure the freshest ingredients are sourced for our dishes
- Monitor food costs and work closely with management to develop strategies for cost control
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards in the kitchen at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to provide excellent customer service and address any guest concerns or special requests
- Stay updated on current food trends and incorporate new techniques or ingredients into menu offerings

Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef specializing in African cuisine
- Culinary degree or equivalent training is preferred
- Strong knowledge of traditional African ingredients, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Proven track record of managing food costs while maintaining high-quality standards
- Familiarity with health codes, sanitation procedures, and safety regulations within a kitchen environment
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of other languages is a plus)

Salary:
The salary for this position is $1300 per month. Benefits such as accommodation, meals, medical insurance, and transportation will also be provided.
