Database Administrator

We are hiring a Database Administrator to manage and maintain our company's databases in Funchal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the security, availability, and integrity of our databases while also optimizing their performance. As a Database Administrator, you will work closely with our development and IT teams to design, implement, and troubleshoot database solutions to support our business needs. Additionally, you will be involved in database upgrades, backup and recovery processes, and data migration projects. The role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Responsibilities:
- Install and configure database software
- Monitor database performance and ensure its availability
- Develop database backup and recovery plans
- Implement security measures to protect data from unauthorized access
- Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions
- Optimize database performance through index tuning and other methods
- Collaborate with development team to design efficient database structures for new applications
- Assist in data migration projects between different database platforms

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role
- Strong knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Experience with database security, backup and recovery procedures, and performance tuning techniques
- Familiarity with programming languages such as SQL or Python is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills

Salary: 1600$ per month

Location: Funchal (own visa jobs available)
