Preservation Architect
As a Preservation Architect, you will be responsible for the preservation and restoration of historic buildings and structures in Greenland. Your main objective will be to ensure that these structures are maintained and conserved in a way that preserves their historical integrity while also making necessary updates for modern use. You will work closely with a team of architects, engineers, and preservation specialists to develop plans and oversee the execution of preservation projects. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong project management skills, and creative problem-solving abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of historic buildings and structures to determine necessary preservation measures
- Develop preservation plans that balance the historical significance of the structure with modern requirements
- Collaborate with team members to oversee the execution of preservation projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
- Conduct research on materials, techniques, and technologies appropriate for historic preservation
- Prepare reports and presentations on preservation projects for clients and stakeholders
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, expenses, and materials used
- Stay updated on local laws, regulations, and best practices related to historic preservation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of experience in historic preservation or restoration projects
- Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to historic preservation in Greenland is preferred but not required
- Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders
- Proficient in AutoCAD software or other design programs
Salary:
Starting salary for this position is 1400$ per month. Benefits include accommodation provided by the company as well as assistance with obtaining necessary work visas.
Location:
This is a full-time position based in Greenland. While we welcome applicants from all nationalities, preference will be given to candidates who are already residing in or willing to relocate to Greenland for this role.
