Android Developer


We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our team in Akron. As an Android Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining high-quality mobile applications for our clients. Your primary focus will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services. You will work closely with our design and development teams to ensure that the user experience is seamless and intuitive.

Responsibilities:
- Design and develop advanced applications for the Android platform
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
- Work with outside data sources and APIs
- Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
- Identify and correct bottlenecks and fix bugs
- Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency

Requirements:
- Proven working experience in Android app development
- Proficient in Java, Kotlin or both
- Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
- Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services
- Knowledge of the full mobile development life cycle
- Understanding of Agile methodologies
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Experience developing web services & API's
- Knowledge of Firebase or other cloud-based services
- Familiarity with Git version control system
