Librarian in Dubai, UAE
We are currently looking for a Librarian to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the library, from cataloging and circulation to archiving and digital resources.
The ideal candidate should have a degree in library science or similar, with experience working in a library environment. Knowledge of cataloging and classification systems is essential, as well as an understanding of reference materials and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, be organized and efficient, be computer literate, possess good problem-solving skills and be able to work within deadlines. Working knowledge of Arabic is desirable but not essential.
The Librarian will be responsible for maintaining the library’s holdings; organizing materials; helping staff members find information; providing reference services; updating digital resources; creating and supervising library programs; answering patron inquiries; developing policies; training staff members; maintaining accurate records; ordering new books, materials, supplies and equipment when needed; marketing the library’s services through social media outlets or other channels; researching trends in libraries or related topics; managing budgets; attending conferences or workshops related to libraries or librarianship when necessary.
This role offers an excellent salary of 1000 AED per month. We are happy to consider applications from immigrants who meet the requirements for this role.
