We are looking to hire a Librarian for our organisation in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the library and will be expected to provide an effective and efficient service to library users.
The ideal candidate should have excellent organisational skills, a good knowledge of library science, and experience in managing a library. They should also be computer literate, have strong interpersonal skills, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
The successful candidate will receive an attractive salary of 1000 AED/month plus potential performance bonuses. We also offer an array of benefits including annual leave, medical insurance, educational assistance and training opportunities.
The main duties include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the library;
- Providing reference services and assisting customers in locating materials;
- Developing and maintaining collections;
- Shelving books in appropriate sections;
- Assisting with creating databases for cataloguing books;
- Assisting with organising library events;
- Developing procedures for circulation, maintenance, security and use of materials;
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of new materials available at the library;
- Updating information systems such as catalogues/databases;
- Ensuring all materials are maintained according to regulations.
