Librarian – Dubai
Job Summary:
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional librarian to join a well-established library in Dubai. This position offers a competitive salary of 1300 and the possibility of working with immigrants. The ideal candidate should have experience in library management, organizational skills, and knowledge of library systems and technologies.
Job Duties:
• Maintain the library's collection of books, journals, newspapers and other materials.
• Manage the circulation process, including checking books in and out and tracking overdue items.
• Create catalogs for new materials and update existing records as needed.
• Create procedures for ensuring that the library remains compliant with copyright laws.
• Develop strategies for increasing usage of the library's resources by patrons.
• Train staff on proper use of library equipment, such as computers and printers.
• Monitor budget allocations for library operations and purchase additional materials as needed.
• Provide assistance to patrons with research inquiries or requests for specific items from the collection.
• Disseminate information about upcoming events or programs at the library via social media or other outlets.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or a related field
• Minimum of three years' experience working in a library setting
• Knowledge of standard research practices and techniques

• Ability to work independently while still meeting departmental objectives
