Librarian in Dubai, UAE
We are looking for a Librarian to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing, managing and maintaining our library collections. The ideal candidate should have outstanding organizational and communication skills, as well as excellent knowledge of computer systems and databases.
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- Plan, develop and implement library services according to our needs
- Establish policies and procedures for the library
- Provide information literacy training to staff and patrons
- Develop and maintain an inventory of all library materials
- Ensure timely cataloguing of new acquisitions
- Maintain relationships with vendors, publishers, other libraries and stakeholders
- Evaluate resources on an ongoing basis to determine their relevance to our collection needs
- Monitor budget allocations for library resources and materials
- Encourage use of the library by staff members, patrons, students and the public
- Respond to inquiries from patrons in a professional manner
- Organise regular events such as author talks, book clubs or workshops
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or equivalent qualification. Candidates with experience working in a library environment are highly preferred. We are willing to consider foreign applicants who meet the criteria mentioned above. Salary offered is 1500 AED per month.
