We are looking for a Librarian to join our team at the Dubai Public Library. This position requires someone with a passion for books and reading and the ability to create a pleasant and professional environment for our guests.

The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and have excellent customer service skills. They must also be able to work independently and as part of a team, as well as have the ability to communicate effectively with staff, patrons, and other library personnel.

This position is full time with an annual salary of 1700 AED per month. Previous experience in a library setting is preferred but not required. We are open to considering applicants who are immigrants or seeking to immigrate to Dubai.

Responsibilities include:
• Overseeing library operations and services
• Assisting patrons in locating materials they need
• Providing information on library resources and services
• Answering inquiries from patrons in person, by phone, or by email
• Processing new materials such as books, magazines, DVDs, etc.
• Maintaining accurate inventory of library materials
• Stocking shelves with materials when necessary
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the library and its facilities
• Assisting with programming activities such as story time or book clubs

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field preferred but not required
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
• Ability to work both independently and within a team environment

The successful candidate should have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. They should also have exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle guest inquiries professionally.
