A leading library in Dubai is looking for an experienced and qualified Librarian to join their team. The successful candidate will work with the team to manage and maintain the library's resources, provide assistance to patrons, and help create a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Requirements:
• Bachelor or higher degree in Library Science or a related field
• At least two years of experience working as a librarian
• Knowledge of library systems and technologies
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to communicate effectively with patrons and staff
• Proficiency in English and Arabic (preferred)
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Job Description:
As a Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the resources and services of the library. You will be responsible for cataloging new books, maintaining records of all materials, providing reference services to patrons, helping patrons find material they are looking for, creating displays promoting new books or services the library offers, researching topics relevant to the library’s collection, and attending professional development courses when necessary. Additionally, you will be expected to maintain a safe environment by enforcing rules of conduct in the library. You may also be asked to help plan special programs or events that promote literacy or use of the library’s resources.
We offer competitive salary package up to 1000 AED per month based on qualifications and experience plus other benefits including health insurance and annual leave package.
