We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Librarian to join our team in Dubai. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to join a leading organization and make a difference.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the library, organizing materials, and providing reference services to our customers. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, excellent customer service skills, and experience in library management.
In this role you will be responsible for:
• Developing and maintaining an effective library system
• Ensuring that the library is well stocked with up-to-date material
• Organizing resources such as books, databases, periodicals, digital media and other materials
• Providing reference services to customers
• Assisting in the promotion of the library services to potential users
• Maintaining accurate records of borrowing activities within the library
• Assisting in cataloguing of library resources
• Conducting regular stocktaking activities
• Carrying out additional duties as assigned by the manager.
The successful candidate must possess:
• A post-secondary qualification in Library Science or related field
• Previous experience working as a librarian or related field
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to interact effectively with customers from diverse backgrounds
• Knowledge of current trends in technology related to libraries and information management
• Proficiency in computer applications including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel & Access)
