Librarian in El-Fujairah, UAE
Job Summary
The El-Fujairah Library is searching for a qualified Librarian to join our team of talented professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and maintaining our library, assisting patrons with their research needs, and helping to ensure the library's collections are up-to-date. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a strong knowledge of library practices, as well as a passion for helping others. In addition, the candidate must be patient, friendly, and able to work independently.
Responsibilities
The Librarian will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
-Organizing the library's collections and materials;
-Assisting patrons with their research needs;
-Maintaining records of library resources;
-Recommending books and other materials;
-Developing procedures to improve access to material;
-Staying up to date on current trends in the field;
-Providing instruction on how to use electronic resources;
-Creating displays and promotional materials for new books and other materials;
-Answering questions from patrons regarding library services or resources.
Qualifications & Skills:
The Librarian should possess the following qualifications:
-A Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related field;
-Excellent organizational skills;
-Familiarity with computer systems used in libraries;
-Strong customer service skills;
-Knowledge of reference sources such as databases, ebooks, magazines, newspapers & other sources of information.
