Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Librarian to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an efficient and quality library service to our customers. An ability to plan, organize, and manage the library resources is essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain the library collection by cataloging, organizing, and circulating materials.
• Help patrons locate information in the library’s catalog.
• Monitor the use of library services, materials, equipment, and facilities.
• Respond to requests for assistance from patrons in locating materials or services.
• Check out books and other materials to patrons using a computer system or manual system.
• Assist patrons with basic computer tasks such as printing documents or accessing the internet.
• Organize activities such as storytelling programs or book discussion groups for children and adults.
• Process new material such as books, magazines, audio-visuals into the library collection by using standard cataloging procedures.
• Develop educational programs such as lectures or workshops on topics related to books or reading skills.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field preferred; Master’s degree is a plus
• At least two years of experience as a librarian
• Excellent organizational skills; able to prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong attention to detail; excellent problem solving skills
• Knowledge of library operations and procedures
