Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of three years of professional experience in a library environment. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a highly motivated team and develop your professional skills. This position offers a salary of 1300 per month.
Needs for the Candidate
The successful candidate should have knowledge of library practices, procedures, and systems, as well as strong interpersonal skills. They must also be able to prioritize tasks and manage their time efficiently. An understanding of Arabic culture is beneficial but not essential.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
The Librarian will be responsible for organizing books, documents, periodicals, audio-visual materials, electronic resources, etc., as well as ensuring that all materials are properly catalogued and shelved. They will also provide reference services to library users; assist in the selection of library resources; provide advice on the use of library materials; conduct library tours; supervise access to the library; prepare reports on circulation statistics and collection usage; recommend acquisitions; and take part in promotional activities such as exhibitions or book clubs.
Qualifications and Skills
The successful applicant should possess a Bachelor's degree in Library Science or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree is preferred but not required. They should also have excellent organizational skills; knowledge of standard office software such as Microsoft Word and Excel; familiarity with current trends in libraries such as digital technologies; and strong customer service skills.
