Job Summary
A Cashier is needed to work in the Sharjah area with a salary of 1700 AED. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing customer service and managing cash transactions in an efficient and accurate manner.
Responsibilities
- Receive payment by cash, credit cards, cheques or gift cards.
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers.
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and complete other general cleaning duties, such as mopping floors and emptying trash cans.
- Monitor prices for goods in order to stay up to date with current pricing information.
- Scan items for customers using barcode scanners or entering them manually into the system when necessary.
- Resolve customer complaints courteously and professionally.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a similar role preferred but not required.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time; able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally; able to bend, reach, kneel or stoop while stocking shelves or performing other duties as necessary.
- Excellent customer service skills; friendly demeanor; strong interpersonal skills; ability to establish relationships with customers quickly and effectively; attention to detail.
- Knowledge of basic math principles (addition/subtraction) is required; knowledge of basic computer operations (MS office) is preferred but not necessary
- Open availability including evenings, weekends and holidays preferred but not required
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required
