We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team based in Abu-Dhabi. Our library is one of the largest in the United Arab Emirates and offers a wide range of books, magazines and other media for our customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of library staff, providing excellent customer service and maintaining our collection of books.
The successful candidate will benefit from working in a supportive team environment with access to resources such as online databases and a modern library system. We offer an attractive salary of 1500 AED per month plus additional benefits including flexible working hours and generous vacation days.
The main responsibilities of the Librarian include: ordering new books; cataloguing new items; tracking overdue items; providing assistance to customers in finding specific books; organizing book displays; creating library events; managing library staff; maintaining an up-to-date catalogue of available materials; responding to customer enquiries; keeping accurate records on all activities carried out in the library.
The ideal candidate should have a degree or diploma in Library Science or a related field along with at least 3 years’ experience working as a Librarian or Library Assistant. The successful applicant should have strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills and great attention to detail. Knowledge of online database systems is highly desirable as well as experience working with immigrants and refugees.
