Job Description:
The Merchandiser is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations in the store including customer service, merchandising strategies, and product placement. The successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills as well as outstanding organizational abilities in order to handle this important role efficiently. The Merchandiser should also have knowledge of current trends in retailing as well as an understanding of how to maximize profits within a retail setting.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure that shelves are properly stocked with merchandise according to company policies
• Monitor inventory levels on a regular basis and order new merchandise when necessary
• Develop merchandising strategies that align with the store’s goals
• Train staff on proper product placement techniques
• Assist customers with queries or complaints about products or services
• Evaluate sales performance on a weekly basis
• Create attractive displays that draw customers into the store
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience in retail merchandising is required • Knowledge of current trends in retailing • Excellent interpersonal skills • Outstanding organizational abilities • Ability to multitask • Understanding of how to maximize profits within a retail setting
