Job Description

We are looking for a Librarian to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will be responsible for organizing and managing the library of our organization. The Librarian will ensure that the library is well-organized, efficient, and easy for readers to navigate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the library by ensuring all books and documents are properly cataloged and stored in their respective sections
• Monitor the usage of the library’s resources by patrons
• Provide reader advisory services to patrons
• Update the library’s online catalog system with new acquisitions
• Plan programs such as story-telling sessions or artist talks to promote reading on various topics
• Develop collections of materials in specialized areas such as rare books, special collections, archives etc.
• Supervise part-time staff and volunteers assisting in the library
• Provide orientation to new library patrons on how to use the library’s resources
• Respond to user inquiries regarding information resources or services provided by the library

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related field is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of current trends in libraries and experience with digital resource management systems is desirable
• Excellent organizational skills with an eye for detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Salary Range & Benefits

The salary for this position is 1300 AED per month. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance coverage, paid vacation time, and professional development opportunities. We are also open to considering immigrants for this position.
