We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team in Dubai. The main responsibility of the role is to manage the library operations and provide excellent customer service.
Job Description:
- Develop and implement library policies, procedures and services
- Monitor library resources, select new materials and maintain current collections
- Organize and classify library materials according to established standards
- Provide reference services to library patrons by locating specific information within the library's collection
- Assist in maintaining records of current circulation, overdue materials and lost items
- Answer inquiries from patrons regarding location of material, resources and services at the library
- Train staff members in use of library equipment, databases, computer systems and other technologies
Needs for the Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or related field.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a library or related environment.
- Knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal System.
- Proven ability to work with a variety of computer programs such as MS Office Suite.
- Excellent customer service skills.
