Job Description: Looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the library, organizing resources and providing reference services to patrons.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in a library setting
• Knowledge of current trends and technologies in library science
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to move around the library with ease
Duties:
• Manage the library by cataloging new material, organizing existing resources, and maintaining an up-to-date inventory of resources.
• Provide reference services to patrons by retrieving materials from shelves, providing assistance with research projects, and helping patrons locate material within the library.
• Create online databases for patrons to access information quickly and easily.
• Maintain records for circulation statistics as well as overdue materials.
• Develop promotional material such as brochures and flyers for events held at the library.
