The primary responsibility of this role is handling cash transactions with customers using cash registers. You must be comfortable in handling money accurately while providing excellent customer service. Other duties include scanning goods and ensuring pricing is correct, collecting payments, issuing receipts and ensuring all transactions are conducted in a timely manner. You will also be responsible for stocking shelves as needed, maintaining cleanliness in the store area and adhering to safety regulations set by the company.

To be successful in this role you will need to have excellent numeracy skills and knowledge of basic accounting principles along with strong customer service skills. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment is also essential. Experience with operating cash registers or point of sale systems would be beneficial but not essential for this position.
