Librarian job in Dubai UAE for Indian
Position Summary
We are looking for a Librarian to join our team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and organizing the library, as well as providing guidance in the usage of electronic resources. They should have a strong knowledge of different library systems and be comfortable with technology. The librarian will be expected to provide excellent customer service to our patrons and help them locate materials they need. In addition, they must be able to accurately analyze data and reports related to library usage, and review any changes or updates to our library collections.
Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operations of the library including circulation, cataloging, acquisitions, and reference services
• Ensure that library materials are properly organized, up-to-date, and accessible
• Develop policies and procedures for the use of library resources
• Prepare reports on library usage statistics for management review
• Promote new books or other materials available at the library
• Support patrons in the use of electronic resources such as databases, e-books, etc.
• Respond to questions from patrons regarding books or research topics
• Assist with the selection of books or other materials for purchase by the library
• Create displays or exhibits related to particular topics or events
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development activities as needed
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Library Science or a closely related field is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of various computer programs related to libraries is essential (Microsoft Office Suite)
• Excellent customer service skills with an ability to respond appropriately to patron inquiries
• Must be organized and detail-oriented
Salary & Benefits: 1100 AED per month plus benefits package commensurate with experience. We are ready to consider an immigrant.
