Librarian in Sharjah, UAE
We are looking for an experienced Librarian to join our team in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The ideal candidate should be a native Arabic speaker with excellent English proficiency, and should have their own visa and accommodation.

You will be responsible for managing our library’s resources, including books, periodicals, reference materials, audiovisual materials and digital resources. You will also coordinate the library’s activities and services that promote reading and lifelong learning.

Your main duties and responsibilities include:
• Developing library collection policies within budget guidelines
• Ensuring the library collections are up-to-date
• Keeping track of new publications in the field
• Assisting patrons with research inquiries
• Cataloguing new acquisitions into the library database
• Ordering supplies when necessary
• Organizing events such as book clubs or author talks
• Maintaining accurate records of circulation and overdue items
• Preparing reports for internal use or external stakeholders.
• Training staff on how to use new systems or technologies

You should have strong organizational skills as well as excellent customer service skills. You should also have experience in using computerized information systems. If you have a degree in Library Science or a related field this would be beneficial.
