Executive Chef - Indian Cuisine
The Executive Chef will oversee the kitchen operations for an Indian restaurant in Sharjah, ensuring high-quality food preparation and presentation. The ideal candidate will have experience in Indian cuisine and be able to create innovative and authentic dishes while maintaining consistency and quality. They will also be responsible for managing the kitchen staff, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and providing feedback
- Develop new menu items and ensure consistency in preparation and presentation
- Monitor food quality and ensure adherence to health and safety standards
- Control costs by closely monitoring inventory levels and minimizing waste
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked kitchen
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop seasonal menus and specials
- Ensure timely execution of all orders to meet customer expectations
- Handle any customer complaints or concerns regarding food quality or service
- Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality ingredients
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years experience as an Executive Chef in an Indian restaurant
- Proven track record of creating successful menus with authentic Indian dishes
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food cost control measures and inventory management
- Excellent communication skills in English (knowledge of Malayalam is a plus)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards
