Pastry Chef
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in Manama. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for creating and preparing a variety of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods. You will also be in charge of managing the pastry team, maintaining inventory, and ensuring that all desserts meet our quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Create and prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods according to recipes and customer requests
- Manage inventory of ingredients and supplies needed for pastry production
- Train and supervise the pastry team to ensure consistency in quality and presentation
- Oversee the plating and presentation of desserts to ensure they meet our standards
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all food safety regulations
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to develop new pastry items for seasonal menus
- Monitor food costs and make adjustments as needed to stay within budget
- Stay updated on current industry trends and incorporate them into menu offerings when appropriate
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel setting
- Excellent knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, tools, and equipment
- Creative flair with the ability to develop new dessert ideas that are both visually appealing and delicious
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to train and manage a team effectively
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks accordingly
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Degree or certification in culinary arts is preferred
Salary: 1400$ per month
Location: Manama, Bahrain (open to candidates of any nationality)
