Head Chef - Malayalee Cuisine (English-Speaking)
We are seeking a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in Hawalli, Kuwait. As a Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and presentation of authentic Malayalee cuisine, while also managing the kitchen staff and ensuring high-quality standards are maintained.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new dishes for the menu, while also maintaining traditional Malayalee recipes
- Oversee all aspects of food preparation, including cooking techniques, portion control, and plating presentation
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients to ensure freshness and cost-effectiveness
- Train and supervise kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and food safety protocols
- Monitor kitchen operations to maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficiency
- Collaborate with restaurant management to develop seasonal menus and special promotions
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Head Chef or in a similar role within a Malayalee restaurant setting
- Strong knowledge of traditional Malayalee cuisine with the ability to create innovative dishes without compromising authenticity
- Excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal)
- Experience in managing a team of kitchen staff
- Knowledge of food cost control techniques
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Salary: 1600$ per month
