Head Pastry Chef
We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Head Pastry Chef to join our team in Muscat. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our pastry department, including creating new menu items, managing inventory and supplies, and training and supervising pastry staff.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of baking techniques and pastry ingredients
- Creative and able to develop unique dessert recipes
- Ability to manage inventory and control costs
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to train and supervise staff
- Strong time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Responsibilities:
- Create new menu items based on seasonal ingredients and customer preferences
- Oversee the preparation of all pastries, desserts, breads, and other baked goods
- Train and supervise pastry staff on proper techniques, recipes, and food safety procedures
- Manage inventory levels of ingredients and supplies
- Ensure all desserts are presented beautifully and meet quality standards
- Monitor kitchen operations to maintain efficiency and consistency
- Collaborate with other chefs to plan menus for special events or holidays
- Handle any customer concerns or complaints regarding pastries
- Maintain a clean and organized pastry station
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Culinary Arts or relevant field preferred
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, flavor profiles, decoration techniques, etc.
- Proficient in managing inventory levels to control costs
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train others effectively
