Head Chef - Indian Cuisine
As the Head Chef for our Indian cuisine restaurant in Bayan, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations. Your main duties will include creating and updating menus, training and supervising kitchen staff, ensuring food quality and safety standards are met, and managing inventory and budget. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in an Indian restaurant, strong leadership skills, a creative flair for developing new dishes, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences. This is a full-time position with a salary of $1000 per month.
As the Head Chef, you will be expected to:
- Develop and maintain high-quality menus that reflect the authentic flavors of Indian cuisine
- Train and manage kitchen staff to ensure consistency in food preparation and presentation
- Supervise all aspects of food preparation, including portion control, recipe adherence, and plating techniques
- Monitor food costs to ensure profitability while maintaining quality standards
- Oversee inventory management to minimize waste and control costs
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Collaborate with management to plan special events or promotions
- Continuously seek ways to improve menu offerings and enhance dining experiences for guests
Requirements:
- Previous experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in an Indian restaurant is required
- Strong knowledge of Indian cuisine, techniques, ingredients, and spices is essential
- Ability to train, motivate, and lead kitchen staff effectively
- Proven track record of creating innovative menus that appeal to a diverse customer base
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Strong communication skills in English (Hindi or other Indian language proficiency is a plus)
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
- Must be eligible to work in Bayan without accommodation
