Head Pastry Chef
We are seeking a creative and experienced Head Pastry Chef to join our team at a high-end restaurant in Muscat, Oman. As the Head Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the pastry department, including menu planning, budgeting, and managing a team of pastry chefs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new dessert and pastry recipes that meet the standards of the restaurant
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of all desserts and pastries
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients and supplies
- Train, mentor, and supervise a team of pastry chefs and kitchen assistants
- Maintain high levels of hygiene and cleanliness in the pastry department
- Collaborate with other chefs to create cohesive menus that complement each other
- Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate them into menu planning
- Ensure all food safety regulations are followed in the pastry department
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Head Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-end restaurant
- Creative thinking with excellent knowledge of various dessert techniques and current trends
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing a team
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with ability to meet deadlines consistently
- Diploma/Certification in Pastry Arts or Culinary School degree preferred
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Salary:
1100$ per month (negotiable based on experience)
