Executive Chef
We are hiring an experienced Executive Chef to oversee and manage our kitchen operations in Hawalli, Kuwait. Our ideal candidate will be a highly skilled and creative culinary professional with a passion for food and a strong understanding of kitchen management.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and create new menu items that align with the restaurant's concept and customer preferences
- Plan and direct food preparation, ensuring quality and consistency in taste, presentation, and portioning
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, placing orders as needed
- Train, supervise, and lead kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and safety
- Collaborate with the management team to develop cost-effective strategies for menu planning
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Manage food costs by implementing portion control measures and minimizing waste
- Stay updated on industry trends and introduce new techniques or equipment to improve efficiency
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Executive Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting
- Culinary degree or equivalent training from a recognized institution preferred
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation techniques, ingredients, sanitation standards, and nutrition guidelines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff
- Exceptional creativity in developing unique menus while also catering to dietary restrictions or preferences
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Fluent in English (knowledge of Arabic is a plus)
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
