Making a career as a Senior analyst finance at National Bank Independent Network (NBIN) will be to establish operating goals and objectives, design and implement policies and procedures for the day-to-day activities of the team, and serve as one of the driving forces to achieve the goal of operational efficiency and effectiveness for the department. You will be working closely with several NBIN teams to ensure that mandates for the team are met.
Your role:
- Produce monthly Client P&L reporting and analysis
- Support bottom-up forecasts and the annual Budget processes
- Provide financial data and insights in support of Business Development and pricing
- Responsible for GL certifications and reconciliation to NBIN data
- Produce monthly billings to external clients: monthly net commission and information packages for Introducing Broker clients, and billings to external clients that are Portfolio Managers and Investment Funds Managers.
- Ensure the various billing systems (e.g. AS400 Commission System, ISM system, Global Plus, RBroker and internal billing tools) are setup and working with flexibility and control.
- Work with clients’ auditors for their audit questions and confirmations.
Your team :
Join a team of 8 people, responsible for the design and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the following functions of the team are carried out efficiently and effectively. You will report to the Chief Accounting Officer of NBIN.
The Accounting Team oversees NBIN’s general ledger, billing and A/R, Financial analysis, and auditing functions. This team works closely with our federated Finance partners to report on financial results and to support the business’s budgeting and forecasting activities. A key focus area is optimizing Client and Product contributions to NBIN’s financial performance.
This position is based in Toronto and will appeal to professionals who are proactive self-starters and are able to be productive within tight deadlines; is experienced with working with a group of accounting professionals in meeting the mandates of the National Bank Independent Network (NBIN) Accounting team.

Competencies required :
- University degree, in a related discipline (Finance or Accounting)
- 3 years of experience, and a proven track record in similar role, preferably within the Financial Services, Brokerage or related industries.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Power BI , etc)
Preferred competencies :
- Working towards an MBA / CPA / CFA
- Good communication skills and build good relationships with partners
- Ability to establish priorities and strategies.
- Leadership and team building skills. Ability to build consensus, rally support around common goals and to motivate groups and individuals.
